This pipe cleaner garland craft has a festive candy cane theme!

Last year I bought some cute candy cane pipe cleaners and the other day I rediscovered them when unpacking the Christmas box. They are actually just a thin white and red pipe cleaner wound together, so it would be easy to make your own. I just love the effect!
I decided to make a garland from them with F’s help. Using the wire cutter part of some pliers I cut each pipe cleaner in half (don’t use scissors). I also added some plain white and red ones for variety.
I showed F how to create the loops then link a new pipe cleaner to it. This was definitely a joint effort as he found it hard to twist the ends together to complete the link, but he still had to manipulate the pipe cleaners quite a bit.
Once we had used up all the pipe cleaners we had a lovely long garland! I was going to add it to the tree (we have our fake one up already!) but F had other ideas!
A few days later the garland was stolen by our Elf – who made a swing from it!
