I made this teddy bear pop up card for the new baby of a friend of mine, but it would also make a good birthday card.
I found this tutorial really hard to photograph so please refer to the diagram below for a key to the folds.
For the main image I found a teddy bear clipart picture from Clker. I added the baby’s name onto the bear.
I cut out the bear and folded it lengthways with a mountain fold then a valley fold (Fold 1). I unfolded the bear and made a horizontal valley fold (Fold 2) about a quarter of the way up the bear.
Then from the point where the two folds cross, I made two diagonal valley folds (Folds 3 & 5) and two diagonal mountain folds (Folds 4 & 6) above the horizontal fold.
Note: Fold 1 should be a mountain fold above Fold 2, and a valley fold below Fold 2.
Then I glued the section below Fold 2 to the card, lining up the central folds of the bear and the card.
I then decorated the front of the card with text and stickers and the cute card was complete. If you enjoyed this card tutorial then please check out the other pop up cards that I’ve made: princess and dinosaur!
