If you want to try more cooking activities with your kids, try these crispy cheese bites!

Ingredients (Makes 24):

  • 6 oz shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (115g/4oz) butter, melted
  • 1 cup AP flour (plain flour)
  • 1 cup rice cereal (I used brown rice cereal for extra flavor!)
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Freshly ground black pepper

To make the crispy cheese bites I measured the first four ingredients and put them into small bowls. F then added them to a larger bowl.

Then he gave them a big stir and mix. I added in the Worcestershire sauce and black pepper for him, but older kids could easily do this too.Crispy Cheese Bites - for kids to make!

Next we formed the mixture into small balls – it can be a little crumbly but I found that if I squeezed the mixture together I could make a ball, place it on a silicone mat and then flatten it. This was quite tricky for F to do – he prefers spooning things into mini muffin pans! So I finished this off.

I baked the cheese bites in a 350F oven for 12-14 minutes until golden brown at the edges.
