This craft combines a simple kind of project that my son and I both enjoy (there’s just something about paper plate crafts!) with his love of monster trucks. Despite never seeing one in real life, my five-year-old is obsessed with all things truck – and monster trucks hold special appeal due to their bright colors and fun stunts!
We used:
- Two small paper plates
- Black acrylic paint
- Green card
- Scissors
- Kitchen foil
- Glue
- Stickers we had an assortment but loved some of the options from Darice Custom Cars sticker book.
We started by painting the plates with black paint, then leaving them to dry.
Meanwhile I cut out the body of the truck from card and then two hub caps and a driver window from the foil. I set everything out ready for F to glue everything together.
First he glued the foil hub caps to the wheels. He used a glue stick but they later peeled off – so just use white glue!
Then he glued the paper plate wheels to the body of the truck, and added the foil window. Then it was time to decorate with stickers!
Here is the finished paper plate monster truck!
