We are working on a big transportation series right now and I was lucky enough to receive some craft kits from Pom Tree Kids. Included in the kits was a big tub of transportation stickers which I thought would be perfect for our next craft.

There is a combination of foam, felt and paper stickers, and transport types include ambulance, scooter, truck, train, bus, cement mixer, various cars and many more. In addition there are traffic signals, trees, roadways, buildings etc.
I started by planning a scene on a large piece of paper. There would be areas of sky, train track, water, grass, road and a construction site. I glued coloured card and paper to the relevant areas to create the scene.
Then I added loads of stickers and drew on train tracks and roads.
I presented this to F (2.5yrs) with a selection of vehicle stickers. We discussed the names of each vehicle and where it should go on the scene. I took the backing off the sticker and he placed them where he thought they should go. I love how he could use his imagination and create the scene that he wanted.
It looked really awesome by the time he had finished!
My mother noticed that F wanted to move the stickers around after he had placed them, so the next day she made him a scene from felt, and attached Velcro strips to the back of the stickers. This way the vehicles could be repositioned.
F loved it!
