If you’re a regular reader you may have noticed that we moved house a few months ago to an amazing forest location. Although we’ve been outside a lot, we’ve also had a particularly rainy summer which means we haven’t got outside enough! We’ve been out into the forest a few times but I wanted to plan a real adventure.On a recent trip to Walmart I noticed some new collector’s edition packages of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies. My son loves these smoothies – and I am more than happy for him to drink them because they contain “Only the Good Stuff®” – with no high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavours or colours. But they are a great source of calcium and vitamin D. These limited edition bottles feature different athletes and I decided they would be great inspiration and perfect for fueling our forest adventure! I picked up a 12-pack of Dannon® Danimals® Strawberry/Strawberry Kiwi Smoothies and a 12-pack of Dannon® Danimals® Watermelon/Strawberry Smoothies.
Back at home, I made up an adventure backpack for my son, including the following:
- Two Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies
- Kid-friendly binoculars
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Camera
- Water
While packing up the smoothies I looked out for the “Golden Bongo” bottle – finders of these bottles can win a Play60 Field Day for their school with NFL pros! Sadly I didn’t find one but we’ll keep looking! When we were ready we ventured out into the forest.
We saw all kinds of plants, trees and wildlife. He looked through his binoculars and took so many photos!
After twenty minutes I could see that F wanted to keep going, but he was getting a bit tired. Time for the smoothies! I’d packed some straws for him as this is usually how he drinks them at home. I think he would have coped without but this was definitely a mess free option.
Once he had finished he was all ready to get going again!
