For some festive fun the other day we decided to make our own snack – by decorating a sugar cone (ice cream cone) and making it look like a Christmas tree! Now this isn’t a new idea – check out some beautiful designs from the people at Wilton or The Suburban Soapbox.
I didn’t think we’d attempt anything that impressive, but we WOULD have a go, and see what happened!
I had some white frosting left over from my ornament cookies, so I added some green food dye.
Then I spread it onto the sugar cones.
We decorated the tree with assorted sprinkles and colored sugar. Some gold and silver balls, too (or dragees, if you want to get fancy)!
It was time to eat! I have to confess that the sugar cone Christmas trees were every bit as rich, sickly and wonderful as you’d expect!
