How to Make a Balloon Column without A Pole

Step-by-step instructions for creating an arch with your own hands

Step 1: Inflate the Balloons

The first step is to inflate the balloons. You can use a balloon pump or inflate them by mouth. Make sure you inflate the balloons to the same size.

Step 2: Tie the Balloons Together

Next, tie the balloons together. Take two balloons and tie them together at the neck. Repeat this process with two more balloons, then tie the two pairs of balloons together. Keep adding pairs of balloons until you have a long chain.

Step 3: Create the Column

To create the column, take the long chain of balloons and start twisting it into a spiral shape. You can twist the chain around your hand to create a spiral shape.

Step 4: Secure the Column

Once you have created the spiral shape, you need to secure the column. Take a piece of fishing line or string and wrap it around the base of the column. Tie the fishing line or string tightly to secure the column in place.

Step 5: Add the Base

To make the column stand up, you need to create a base. Take a piece of cardboard and cut it into a circle. The size of the circle should be slightly larger than the base of the column.

Take the column and place it in the center of the cardboard circle. Use tape or glue dots to attach the column to the cardboard.

Step 6: Add the Finishing Touches

Now that you have created the balloon column and base, you can add the finishing touches. You can add ribbons, bows, or other decorations to the column to make it look even more festive.

Tips and Tricks

Use balloons in different colors and sizes to create a more interesting column.

If you don’t have fishing line or string, you can use ribbon or twine to secure the column.

You can add lights to the column for an extra special touch.

If you want to make the column taller, you can add more balloons to the chain.
