This collection of play dough mats includes create a face, create a meal, fill in the shapes, decorate a fish, and design flowers. Colors are kept to a minimum so that you don’t use up too much printer ink!
Here are some ideas:
Face – think about hair length and colour, eyes and expressions. Is is a sad or happy face?
Meal – make their favourite food in play dough: peas, carrots, strawberries, bananas – or whatever!
Shapes – match the play dough colours to the shapes. This can also be used for some basic counting exercises.
Fish – think about an eye, fins, and scales. Perhaps some bubbles rising from the mouth? What would be behind the fish?
Flowers – get creative with different size, shape and colour petals.
Once you have printed out your play dough mats, there are three ways to cover them:
- Contact Paper – cut out two pieces of contact paper slightly larger than the mat. Put one piece on the front and another on the back, sticky sides together so the edges are sealed.
- Plastic Page Protectors – by far the quickest option! Just slip the mat into one of these plastic sleeves and you’re ready to go.
- Laminator – the most professional finish. Just place the mat inside a laminating pouch and run it through the laminator.
